In this exciting role you’ll play a substantial and hands-on role in shaping the future of Scotch production at Diageo. You’ll join a passionate technical team committed to delivering our bold ambition of achieving our Spirit of Progress targets for water and carbon. This is a role for someone who loves collaboration, flourishes with problem‑solving, and feels energised by driving real, measurable impact across iconic distilleries and supply sites.

Working closely with site teams, Global Project Engineering, and key business partners, you will help lead and support projects that push our performance forward—creatively, responsibly, and confidently. You’ll blend technical insight with curiosity, relationship-building, and a championing spirit to elevate the way we use water and energy, adopt new technologies, and unlock breakthrough performance across our 31 distilleries, 4 maltings, bottling hall, and maturation and coopering footprint.

In this role, you will:

  • Guide and assist water and carbon-reduction projects throughout the Scotch category, working side-by-side with operational teams to deliver our 2030 Spirit of Progress commitments

  • Provide technical insights that enhance water and energy efficiency, improve current water and carbon-reduction technologies, and meet environmental, cost, and performance targets.

  • Benchmark internally and externally, identifying emerging innovations and translating them into important opportunities for Scotch.

  • Build strong, trust-based collaborations across finance, HR, risk & governance, procurement and more to deliver joined‑up, complete solutions.

  • Champion high standards, role‑modelling a steadfast drive for step‑change performance.

  • Enable confident problem‑solving, coaching others to use data, analytics and root-cause tools to solve challenges in a structured and empowering way.

  • Encourage a growth mindset, supporting multi-disciplinary collaboration and helping teams gain in taking ownership of the challenges they face.

Here is a wonderful chance to create a significant impact through your technical knowledge, curiosity, and passion for a balanced future for Scotch.. You’ll help influence decisions, inspire others, and contribute directly to Diageo’s journey toward a cleaner, smarter and more resilient supply chain.

About you

You’re a thoughtful, collaborative, and forward‑looking professional who enjoys bringing people together to tackle problems and make meaningful improvements. You combine technical expertise with a calm, supportive approach that helps teams feel confident and connected. You care about learning, sharing knowledge, and encouraging an environment where everyone can do their best work.

You’ll bring:
