Why it matters

AES has been actively shifting its generation mix away from coal toward carbon-free sources - solar, wind, hydro, and battery storage. The company develops and operates large-scale renewable energy projects and integrates energy storage to provide flexible capacity that can replace fossil-fuel peaking plants. It also deploys solar robotics and other operational technologies to improve the efficiency of clean energy assets.
