Job description

Sustainability Reporting Specialist for Software Company

ESG Flo is in search of a passionate Sustainability Specialist with 2+ years of experience in ESG Reporting (preference for CSRD). This Sustainability Consultant will work closely with our Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams to lead our ESG engagements such as CSRD gap assessments and writing CSRD compliant reports, co-design features for our SaaS Platform, and be an active sustainability guide for our clients.

Our goal is to make ESG data collection and reporting easy, efficient, and enjoyable. We help sustainability teams focus on driving meaningful impact in Environmental, Social, and Governance domains rather than getting bogged down with reporting tasks.

How did ESG Flo come about?

ESG Flo is an AI-enabled Data management and reporting solution designed to automate the ESG data gathering process and provide real-time insights into ESG factors. This software makes ESG reporting and decision making seamless by optimizing extraction, validation, and transformation of relevant data. It is built from the ground up with auditability in mind.

ESG Flo aligns operations with global climate goals, promotes social responsibility, and enhances corporate governance practices. Their 5 values are: Truth, Trust, Transparency, Totality and Time.

ESG Flo was founded in 2022 and is headquartered in New York. ESG Flo receives funding and support from Bain & Company as well as other top VCs.

What will I be doing?

You will play a pivotal role in guiding our clients on their sustainability journeys. For prospective clients, you will act as the subject matter expertise in Sustainability reporting and work with them to identify how best ESG Flo can support them. With existing clients, you will spearhead consulting engagements such as Double Materiality Assessments, CSRD Gap Assessments, CSRD report writing, Science Based Target Setting, and Scope 3 Emissions Calculations. With the Product team, you will provide valuable insights into client needs, prioritize features, and co-design solutions.

To be more specific, you will:

  1. Lead consulting engagements depending on client needs

    • Conduct workshops and assist clients in their compliance journey towards CSRD. In some cases, write CSRD reports for clients.
    • Lead workshops, review survey results, and hold interviews as necessary to produce a double materiality assessment or science-based targets.
    • Project manage the data collection efforts for Scope 3. Deliver client-ready excel workbooks and presentations for the results.
    • Create methodology documentation to be used for internal and external audit purposes.
  2. Serve as a sustainability thought partner for clients

    • Participate in client meetings and provide support where needed on their ongoing sustainability initiatives.
    • Identify areas for organizational and process changes to set clients up for future success.
    • Ideate ways that ESG Flo can provide further support and actively flag upsell opportunities.
  3. Be a feature development partner for Product

    • Support the Product organization with new ideas and industry insights.
    • Contribute the industry and client perspective in prioritizing features.
    • Participate in co-creation workshops with Product Managers and Designers.
  4. BONUS: Be a subject matter expert in sales conversations

    • Participate in later stage sales conversations with prospective clients to better understand their current sustainability challenges.
    • Provide insights into immediate collaboration opportunities with ESG Flo.
    • Ideate with prospective clients on areas of mutual growth and development.
    • Synthesize insights to pass on to Customer Success and Product teams.

That sounds just right to me. Who are we looking for?

Qualifications

  • You have experience in compliance report writing such as TCFD, CDP, GRI, and SASB.

Please note that this role begins with a 90-day evaluation period during which you will collaborate with the team to define your objectives. Your performance will be assessed based on these objectives at the end of the 90-day window.

Why should I join ESG Flo?
