Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving sustainability initiatives across various projects, with a focus on energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and sustainable design. This position requires a deep understanding of sustainability principles, energy modeling, and a passion for leading projects that make a positive environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage sustainability projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory requirements.
- Energy Modeling and Auditing: Conduct and oversee energy modeling, audits, and analysis for multifamily, commercial, and industrial buildings to identify opportunities for energy savings and sustainability improvements.
- Sustainable Design: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate sustainable design principles into new construction and retrofit projects.
- Client Consultation: Provide expert advice to clients on sustainability strategies, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, and indoor environmental quality.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal sustainability regulations and ensure all projects comply with relevant standards and certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL, BREEAM).
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a small team of junior consultants and engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders to achieve project objectives and foster strong, collaborative relationships.
- Business Development: Assist in business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and building strong client relationships.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and review technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in sustainability consulting, energy efficiency, or a related field, with a strong track record of leading successful projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST), energy auditing tools, and sustainability assessment frameworks.
- Certifications: LEED AP, WELL AP, Fitwell, or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing teams and a desire to take on more leadership and management responsibilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex sustainability concepts to diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex sustainability challenges.
- Location: Ability to work in Atlanta, with flexibility for hybrid work and occasional travel as needed.
