Job description
The Position: The Risk & Sustainability Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of the Company Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program, facilitation of local and municipal utility regulations and Energy Star compliance in support of overall utility management and monitoring the incident reporting and tracking process at Grand Peaks.
Responsibilities
- Guide and steward strategy, implementation and management of corporate and asset- level ESG strategy.
- Develop and manage internal and external ESG reporting, assessments, and Corporate sustainability policies and programs.
- Lead the ESG Committee and partner with key subject matter experts across departments to develop, communicate, and coordinate internal initiatives.
- Complete filings for local, State, and Federal energy benchmarking ordinances and any partner or lender-required energy benchmarking.
- Stay current on regulatory changes (US SEC, EU CSRD) and industry trends related to ESG reporting, communicate information to relevant stakeholders and integrate new requirements into reporting processes.
- Maintain relationships with applicable external authorities, industry representatives and professional organizations.
- Facilitate programs that lead to tangible, measurable improvements in ESG related metrics.
- Plan and execute environmental efficiency initiatives and performance, green leases, sustainable acquisitions, dispositions and development, and green and healthy building certifications.
- Partner with the ESG Committee (TBD) to define, refine, assess ESG program bounds and focus.
- Continually monitor regulations regarding electricity, water, sewer, and trash across all municipalities in the GRAND PEAKS portfolio.
- Update asset management partner data collection (Measurabl, Lord Green Solutions, etc.) and implementation.
- Perform in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects in process at once. Able to stay organized and deadline focused when completing tasks.
- Problem solve and escalate to ensure issue resolution; maintain rigorous follow-up schedule for pending and incomplete tasks both internally and with vendor partners.
- Property setup and energy consumption data maintenance in Energy Star Portfolio Manager, as necessary, along with reporting to the various governmental jurisdictions, owners, lenders, and investors as required by Joint Venture Partnership, and/or Property Management Agreements.
- Assist with the collection of data for dispositions and acquisitions, as needed.
- Support on-site and Accounting teams by monitoring the Vendor Credentialing approval process, assisting vendors in the document submittal and approval process, and evaluate vendor exceptions upon request.
- Monitor the incident reporting process and tracking worksheet and follow up on property and liability claims to completion which may include working with and guiding participants which may include but is not limited to on-site teams, vendors, assigned legal counsel, third-party administrators, joint venture partners, insurance provider representatives, etc.
- Any other tasks assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel experience and proficiency is a necessity), Adobe Acrobat, Dropbox, market database software.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build effective and professional relationships with a range of stakeholders, including senior management, Team Members, external service providers and contractors.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret leases, contracts, and related documents.
- Must have the interest and ability to be trained in new skills by attending continuing educational opportunities.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Overnight travel required to perform duties.

$100k - $130k annually
