About the role

The Western Australian GreenTech Hub (GTH), hosted by Curtin University, is a new initiative to drive green entrepreneurship and innovation in green technology and bring together researchers, industry and government to accelerate new technologies to decarbonise WA. This is a unique opportunity to work in a small team to establish and grow the Hub. We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator for a fixed-term (24 months), part-time (0.6 FTE) position.

The Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the development, coordination, and implementation of assigned projects under the guidance of the Hub Director. The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring that projects are effectively initiated and executed while maintaining quality control, monitoring scope, and adhering to established schedules.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate project activities and manage work plans, timelines, and evaluation methods to achieve defined outcomes.
  • Liaise with partners and stakeholders to establish project deliverables, objectives, and resources while monitoring costs and providing updates to the Project Lead.
  • Develop project documentation, including business cases and communication strategies, and facilitate stakeholder meetings to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Identify and manage project risks, write progress reports, and initiate actions to resolve delivery issues.
  • Monitor progress against schedules and performance indicators, evaluate milestones, and conduct post-implementation reviews.

Who we are looking for:

  1. Completed a degree in business administration, project management, communications other relevant fields plus some solid experience, or a mix of related work and training.
  2. Strong project management skills to help pull together project plans and reach goals within defined timeframes and budgets.
  3. An active interest and curiosity in supporting the development of innovative solutions to global environmental challenges.
  4. Able to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
  5. Experienced at organising and delivering high impact events.
  6. Good at engaging and connecting with different people, showing sensitivity to different cultures.
  7. Great written communicator, able to put together clear and straightforward project reports.
  8. Well-organised and able to juggle multiple tasks while keeping an eye on details and meeting deadlines.
  9. Team player who respects differences, helps others, follows guidance, and works towards shared goals.

Role Requirements:

  1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
  2. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.
  3. Ability to work outside of normal office hours when required.
  4. Please note that this position will be based at our Bentley Campus and in the CBD.
