Job description
National consultancy to support the update of the Situation Analysis of Children and Women in Yemen- 2024, 4 Months, Sana'a, Yemen (Home Based)
Purpose of Activity/Assignment:
The Consultant will support the update of the situation of children and women by contributing to evidence-based robust analyses of issues that are critical to children and women's rights.
Key Objectives:
- Conduct a desk review of available publications on children and women in Yemen
- Pre-analyze collected data and contribute to finalizing the Conceptual and Analytical Framework
- Contribute to drafting a detailed SitAn Inception Report
- Support and contribute to facilitating a participatory workshop to validate the findings
- Support finalizing the SitAn report and integrating inputs from the validation workshop
- Support the SitAn Dissemination Workshop and Launch
Qualifications:
Education:
- Advanced degree (master's level required) in social sciences, management, health, education, law or development studies
Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, with five years in conducting socio-economic analysis
- Very good understanding of children, adolescent, and women issues
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent writing skills in English; Good knowledge of Arabic
- Previous working experience with UNICEF in a similar capacity is an asset
- Specific knowledge of the context in Yemen is an asset
Language:
- Fluency in English is essential
- Additional fluency in Arabic preferred
