Job description
TotalEnergies Nature Based Solutions (TENBS) is seeking an ESG and Co-benefits Expert to strengthen its team. The main responsibilities include:
Participate in building the strategic vision
- Contribute to operation selection for a balanced portfolio
- Ensure deliverables align with TotalEnergies and TENBS strategy
- Contribute to company positioning and commitments
- Participate in stakeholder relations strategy
- Manage reputational risk
Conduct technical studies for project development
- Work with Business Development and Carbon Expertise teams
- Lead ESG technical studies and due diligence
- Prepare specifications and Terms of Reference
- Coordinate supplier activities
- Define and conduct comparative analyses for optimal forest/agricultural routes
Participate in ESG monitoring of portfolio operations
- Supervise Environmental and Social Management Plans
- Prepare for validation and verification audits
- Contribute to MRV tools and processes for co-benefits
Contribute to team knowledge and skills development
- Conduct competitive intelligence on relevant topics
- Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
Represent the Company when necessary
Candidate Profile:
- PhD / Master's / Engineering degree in environment, social sciences, sustainable development, forestry, or agriculture
- 10-15 years of experience in community projects, especially in AFOLU sector
- In-depth knowledge of Human Rights, Land Rights, and Environmental Rights
- Experience in Environmental and Social Impact Studies
- Knowledge of environmental and social management tools and standards
- Understanding of voluntary carbon markets (preferred)
- Regular international missions required
- Languages: English required, French recommended, Spanish/Portuguese/regional language valued
