Appointment of Chief Executive Officer
Sustainability reporting enables transparency and helps markets function more efficiently, supporting decisions that create sustainable benefits for everyone.
For over 25 years, GRI has been a pioneer and architect of a global common language for organisations to be transparent and take responsibility for their impacts on people and the planet.
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) plays a unique role in the global drive to create a sustainable future for all by providing Reporting Standards alongside tools and training for organisations worldwide to advance the practice of sustainability reporting.
With more than 14,000 GRI reporters in over 100 countries, we are enabling businesses, investors, policymakers, and civil society to use this information to engage in dialogue and make decisions that support sustainable development.
We are currently seeking an ambitious Chief Executive Officer to drive our strategic positioning and lead our talented, diverse team through exciting new opportunities for growth and impact. Reporting directly to the Chair of the Supervisory Board, the Chief Executive Officer has a wide range of responsibilities, from steering GRI strategy implementation and managing day-to-day operations to engaging with a wide range of international partners and being GRI's principal spokesperson, working closely with GRI's multi-stakeholder governance bodies.
The successful candidate will bring a track record of senior strategic leadership, business acumen, a partnership mindset, and highly effective communication skills. You will be very skilled at networking with partner organisations, senior leaders from a wide range of organisations, public policymakers and other key stakeholders. You will be an experienced and competent people leader, excited about working with a purpose-driven and culturally diverse team. You will be an inspiring and persuasive communicator and have demonstrated experience in fundraising and income generation. You will be able to translate the unique strengths, assets, and opportunities of GRI into an even more central position in the changing sustainability reporting landscape.
Experience in organisational reporting is highly desirable, along with proficient knowledge of global sustainability and its relevance to business, international and national policy, the economy, markets, and society.
Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, we have a network of five regional hubs, ensuring we can support organisations and stakeholders worldwide.
To apply, please upload an up-to-date curriculum vitae (including comprehensive details of key achievements and responsibilities), along with a cover letter summarizing your motivation for applying and addressing the role description and key competencies at https://candidates.perrettlaver.com/vacancies/ quoting reference 7455.
