About CDP

CDP is a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. The world's economy looks to CDP as the gold standard of environmental reporting with the richest and most comprehensive dataset on corporate and city action. In 2021 we launched our new five-year strategy: Accelerating the Rate of Change - find out more here. Visit https://cdp.net/en or follow us @CDP to find out more.

Job Purpose and Background

In 2023 CDP underwent a complete digital transformation, seeing us transition the annual disclosure cycle from a paper-based, human-intensive and vendor-dependent stack, to a completely in-house developed, modernised and scalable product that will revolutionise the customer-experience for both external and internal users. As part of this transformation, we also built completely new teams within the Digital directorate, spanning across Design, Product, Infrastructure, Architecture, Engineering and QA.

We are hiring an Agile Lead to support the newly formed Digital team, to own the Agile approach, processes and methodologies across our Digital teams. You will be the first full-time Agile practitioner and will be instrumental in ensuring that the Digital teams have the right skills and support to integrate Agile practices with their work as well as owning the roadmap for future expansion of Agile resourcing and capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will work across four squads, whilst collaborating with Product Owners, Design, Infrastructure, Architecture, QA and other digital teams.
  • You will be responsible for, in cooperation with other stakeholders, shaping the way Agile is used across our Digital team to delivery our products.
  • Embedding Agile ways of working and running ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives and show and tells
  • Shaping Agile processes and making recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Supporting and coaching other team members in efficient Agile delivery
  • Identifying project blockers and helping the team to overcome them
  • Owning and managing the Nexus within the Digital team
  • Train, support and mentor colleagues across the Digital team to become better Agile practitioners
  • Ensure consistency of approach, method and documentation

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • At least two years experience in leading Agile / Scrum for a team with over 20 people in tech/product-focused environment.
  • Formal training in one or more Agile methodology(ies) eg Certified SCRUM Master, Agile PM, SAFe, Certified Agile Practitioner etc
  • Practical experience employing both Agile (Scrum, Kanban and 'Scrumban')
  • A deep understanding of software development practices and a grasp of technical terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders, build relationships and trust, and to influence and embed change
  • Competent facilitating workshops, trainings and ceremonies
  • Knowledge, interest, and passion for the environmental and / or sustainability space will be an advantage.

Salary and benefits (UK):

  • £70,000 - £90,000 per annum
  • Working for a leading people-centric environmental NGO with dedicated, passionate and caring coworkers;
  • Competitive NGO salary and 8% Company Pension Program;
  • 30 days annual holidays (with purchased leave options);
  • Flexible working hours (with option to take flex-days)
  • Up to 6 months remote work anywhere in the world
